SpeedFan was built as a freeware utility able to monitor voltages, fan speed and temperature in personal computers having hardware monitor chips.
If permitted by your system, it can access the hard disk S.M.A.R.T. info to show hard drive temperatures. SCSI disks can also be handled.
If the hardware configuration allows this, you can even change the FSB.
SpeedFan acts as a hardware monitor program that can be minimized to tray being able to access and read digital temperature sensors and that can modify fan speed to keep a constant temperature inside your computer. In this way the fans works as needed and their noise is reduced.
It works with South Bridges and motherboard hardware monitor chips in order to provide temperature, voltage and fan speed reading, monitoring and setting.
