Thunderbird was conceived by the Mozilla Firefox team. So it's a free, open-source and multi-platform mail client made for the well-known Windows, Linux and Macintosh but not only. It's a complex yet uncomplicated client, very close to Microsoft's Outlook Express email program from the point of view of functionality, but with important strong points such as message filtering, junk mail classification, anti-phishing protection, security,
automatic updates and portability.
If your e-mail address is from providers with IMAP/POP like from Yahoo!, Gmail, Hotmail, Lycos, MailDotCom or Libero WebMail then Thunderbird is what you need.
RSS reader, support for HTML mail, search facilities, message grouping, adding labels, return receipts, useful address book, LDAP address completion, abbility to organize e-mail addresses and newsgroup accounts are some of the features it comes with.
