Use it to build a universal installer that will work on Windows Vista, XP, NT, 2000, ME, 98, 95, Server 2003 and even on Windows 7.
The installation may be completed in over 40 languages and you can also create new translation files. Right-to-left languages for example Arabic and Hebrew are entirely accepted.
The NSIS compiler may also be compiled for POSIX systems such as Linux or *BSD without Windows or WINE. However, the output installer will run on Windows only.
